A horizontal pattern would look much better as the room is already quite long. Installing them horizontally would also counter the little hallway in the middle of the room created by the shower by making the space feel a lot wider. I would also recommend centering the grout line between two tiles with the door, instead of having a tile centered within the door opening, as you should end with.
It really personal preference but I think horizontal. I've done way more horizontal installations than vertical. Because of the optical illusion vertical will give you the illusion of a narrower shower and horizontal makes it feel bigger.
